Former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has congratulated U.S. President-elect Mr. Joe Biden following his defeat of incumbent President Mr. Donald Trump.
Biden won in Pennsylvania late Saturday evening moving his Electoral College votes to 273, two figures above the required 270

Obasanjo took a swipe at the incumbent in his letter, insisting that President Trump turned things upside down and told the President-elect to restore the role of the United States as the largest economy in the world.
Hear him, it is “not that the world was perfect and equitable but it was reasonably predictable with some measure of rule of law and respect for international agreements and treaties.
“President-Elect Joe Biden must restore the role of America as the largest economy in the world which has a very significant responsibility for the peace, security, stability and progress of the world”.

Obasanjo also celebrated Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris as the first female Vice President of the U.S. “We in Africa are proud of her success”, he said.
